Wedding pages

We've been married for almost 3 years and have a daughter that is almost a year old but I am still working on the wedding album.  I haven't done a wedding page in a long while but while I was at Camp Croppin' in Calgary.  I had some new papers and lots of black, white and red out so I knew wedding pictures were in order.

Here are two quick single page layouts I whipped up using the new embossed coredinations paper.

Wedding Pictures from CD1

Over the next couple weeks I am going to upload a few pictures from each of the CD that we got from our photographer that hold our wedding photos. There are 8 CD's in total and 620 pictures. So, you can see why I can only do a few from each CD. CD 1 holds pictures 1-79 and is all about getting ready from makeup time to getting to the church. My photographer was Virginia Booth of Hot Shoe Photography. I can not say enough good things about Virginia. She made the day fun and getting our picture taken enjoyable. I for one do not like a camera in my face!

Blue Birds

This is the last card in my pre-loaded posts. I better get stamping or taking pictures tonight. I do have some things I can take a picture of from the wedding and an altered tin that I realize I never have posted and I made it in April!

This card was made as a thank you for my step-mom. The paper did all the work here. The blue birds are from the new Basic Grey, Periphey line.

Pretty Mommy

This is the card we gave to Ian's Mom along with her necklace and earrings. I didn't make a new card from my Mom rather I got a card from my stash I knew she would like. I've posted it before. click: here

My Father-in-laws Mini

This is the card we gave to Ian's Dad a few days before our wedding along with a pair of silver mini cufflinks as a parent thank-you. The cufflinks were a big hit, I also gave Ian a pair on our wedding day that were Black Mini's. This picture is my FIL's 1979 Austin Mini.(? might be off on the year) The apple doesn't far from the tree as Ian has a 2005 Mini Cooper S. Which reminds me that I scrapbooked Ian's mini for him as a wedding present. I have to photograph the 6x6 album pages to post here.

Dancing Butterflies

I made this card as a Thank-you for Ian's sister, Erin for helping with the ushers and programs at our wedding. The card base was 5.5 x 11, scored at 4 1/4 and 8 1/2 the last 1 1/2 was scored up and became a pocket for a gift card. I've always loved this stamp by Paper Inspirations and hadn't used it in awhile, it pairs nicely with the Basic Grey paper from the Scarlett Letter line.

A few candids

My dad emailed me a few wedding pictures that were taken while our photographer was at work with us. However, they aren't the best - I never seem to be looking at the camera that is being done as I am looking at the photographer and pausing to look around at my family - but here are a few to keep my readers going until we get our real pictures from our photographer. It was nice to see these as I finally saw what I looked like - I looked in the mirror when I first was ready and then was on the run for the rest of the day so it is nice to see that I did hold together nicely. (The pictures get bigger if you click on them!)

First Dance

I'm Married

I am officially the new Mrs. Tompkins. Ian and I were married yesterday which turned out to be a clear day in Calgary though it was a bit cool but when your wearing a white wedding gown you don't really feel the cold.

The only hitch of the day involved the limo driver being late to pick myself, my maid of honour and mother up which made me late for my own wedding! However, when your the bride they can't start without you. We were about 3 minutes away from getting in our own vechile and sprinting there. It wouldn't have been so bad but we were ready to go 20 minutes before his arrival time and then he was 15 minutes late - meaning he got their 15 minutes before out wedding was to start and the drive was going to take 20-25 minutes. Oh well - it all worked out. Ian knew I wasn't the run away bride as his best man had talked to me at 1:45 and I said that we were all ready just waiting on the limo.

I don't have a single picture to post right now as everyone with the cameras took off so I am hoping I get one emailed to me today. Then I will post it.

We are leaving to Kelowna tomorrow morning for our honeymoon - we are driving to Radium tomorrow to visit the hot springs and then on to Kelowna the next day. We will be there until Sunday and the best part is that we are going there during the fall wine festival.

When I return I have a ton of pictures now with the wedding projects as well as some big news about me and my stamping.

Wedding Card from Julie

Ian and I received this card in the mail from Julie yesterday. Thanks so much Julie for thinking of Ian and I on our upcoming wedding day (which is just 4 sleeps away). I had the pleasure of meeting Julie when I was in Halifax in May with Ian visiting his parents.

All our parents come in from Saskatchewan and Nova Scotia tomorrow (Wed). So, it will be a busy day around here. We had a bit of excitement on Monday morning when Ian's bestman got a call for back surgery that will take place on Friday not allowing him to be the bestman anymore. He has been waiting on this call for months. They give you 5 days notice, take it or leave it - if he didn't go he would have had another 5 month painful wait and lost his WCB benefits. So, he had to go. We have asked another friends of Ian's to step up and he has agreed. Difficult thing to have to do when you are 5 days from your wedding. We wish Chris all the best in his surgery on Friday and will miss him on Saturday.

Wedding Invite Weekend!

I am getting married on September 29, 2007. My fiance, Ian (thats us on the side bar) proposed to me in Puerto Vallarta on my 30th birthday in November. As a stamper, I knew I would make my wedding invites and everything related to the wedding that I could. I am having a blast doing it!

Ian is off playing hockey in Edmonton at a company hockey tournament. I decide that this would be wedding invite weekend. (though I am taking a break to go to Scrapbookers Paradise members appreciation night tonight at 7pm)

There are the invites that I have been playing with over the last couple months. My color is Claret, SU! doesn't have a color that matches that red as it is more of a garnet color. Bravo Burgandy is too brown, Real Red is too cherry red so I decided that Cranberry Crisp was the closet and I really do love this color. I've added in So Saffron as an accent color. I've learned one thing - to design by envelope size as I'm not making a 100 envelopes as well! Our wedding theme is red roses and we are going for a very simple elegant look. I did CASE the roses with the cranberry and saffron from Emily at Stamping Stuff. She does amazing things with the Roses in Winter stamp set! She had used this color combo in a colour challenge at Splitcoaststampers which she titled Saffron Roses. It was CC104!


This pocket card is about 4 1/2 x 6 1/4 in size. I really like the pocket but Ian wasn't that crazy about it. I knew that it would be a bit time consuming to do 100 of theses as the layers are 1/16" layers and I would want to use my Perfect Layers tool to get them just right. Plus waste paper is an issue as it is such an irregular size and Cranberry Crisp only comes in 8 1/2 x 11.








I returned to a standard A2 card size. I used the Floral stamp on the background and the ticket corner punch on the stamped image. I liked the look and ease of this card but thought I should try my cuttlebug on the background.









Remember when the southwest corner punch was all the rage! Well it definitely doesn't go with the Divine Swirls Cuttlebug background. I wanted to try this corner so that I could see how it looked and I could pick what I like from the three A2 cards. I do like the bug embossed background so I thought I'd try the script background to tie into the word stamp.







This is it! Once I put the script background together with this stamped image. I knew this was the look I was after for my invites. I decided as much as I like the corner ticket punch from above with the brads I preferred the clean lines look with the standard brads in the corner.
