Lots of Thoughts ....

This post isn't about the SU SAB set but rather a whole bunch of stuff to tell you.

First, I'm scramper - yup I've converted to be both a stamper and scrapper.

Secondly, my weekend at the Bloomin' Inn was amazing. What a great place to spend a weekend and scrapbook. The food is down home country cooking, the air is fresh, the facilities were homey and I had a great time with my friends, Sabrina and Roberta. I managed to get a baby frame done on Friday night (went to bed at 2:30am), 5 double-page wedding layouts plus a title page for my wedding album done (went to bed at 1:00 am) and today I made 2 cards for the Hanna Stamps release on Friday - probably could have done more but after our 8:30 am breakfast I needed more sleep so I could drive us home this afternoon. I am already planning a weekend out there again with my Mom and possibly more people ......... right now I'm thinking the September long weekend but we would be on the wait list for it.

Third, I've gotten another degree! This one was from The Scrap Yard University courtesy of my professor, Christy Riopel! If you haven't seen Christy scrapbook well then you need to check out Monday Night Class. Christy and her partner, Cindy (from the Bloomin' Inn)have a great concept going on.

Fourth, due to my love for Christy and now for Cindy - I am now a Monday Night Class subscriber. The Scrap Pantry is a pick up location so I get my monthly kits sent their for pick-up. I got one this weekend - it is a 4 page layout kit whereas most of the others are 2 page layouts. The designer of this one was Colleen with Stamp-it Australia - Live, Love and Laugh ... see why I got it! I can't show it to you on there site as this one is no longer up there. I guess you'll have to wait until I am finished.

And last but not least, I have 2 cards for the Hanna Stamps release on Friday. There are 3 sets to be released. My first card will be up tomorrow and another one on Thursday. I am sorry that I don't have more but my time was limited and I had to leave this am to go out to the field for the week for work - the field is about 7 hours away so it will be a long week. Watch for my scheduled bloggers posts. I will be reading your comments in my email. Plus if you come visit enough and post enough comments to let me know you were here - I may return with blog candy on Friday!

Daisy Poetry

Last Sunday, I made up a bunch of cards with images I had colored on my desk. I stamped this Daisy from TAC at one of the Calgals meetups a long time ago. I had 2 of them colored but hadn't made them into cards. The image is colored with prismas and odourless mineral spirits.

I'm back from the Bloomin' Inn this afternoon so, I will have to report in how much I got done. I have an early Monday am flight to Edmonton then a 5 hour drive to my field location as I will be spending the whole week at the field office and staying in camp to return late Thursday. It is going to be a long week but my blog will have some Hanna Stamps sneak peeks for the release on Friday.

Supplies
Stamps: TAC Daisy, senitment - Hero Arts
Paper: basful blue, chocolate chip, whisper white, Basic Grey
Ink: palette noir, momento black tuxedo
Accessories: striped bashful blue ribbon - SU, Doodlebug sugar coated brads

Pumpkin Flowers

The last of the 4 cards that I made at Nancy's - I was finished this one but it needed something so when I brought it home I changed the ribbon from black to this striped ribbon I got from one of Jody's shares. I used some of the striped ribbon on a card when I was at Nancy's one time so when I saw that Jody had another share for it - I needed it! I also added the small sentiment from PTI's Mixed Messages.

It's Saturday so I'm at the Bloomin' Inn - hopefully having a grand time .... but I scheduled this post with the new scheduling function that blogger has.

Supplies
Stamps: Beautiful Blooms, Mixed Messages - PTI
Paper: certainly celery, really rust, whisper white, SEI Black Orchid
Ink: really rust, certainly celery, Momento black tuxedo
Accessories: striped ribbon, Amanda Blu brads

Bloom

This is a pretty simple card that I made using the same color scheme as yesterday with the SEI Black Orchid paper. Not much stamping but I do really like the look of it and how the patterned paper didn't need the stamping as it add so much.

A busy day for me. I have to work in the am then for the pm, my production team and myself are heading over to the Golf Dome for a teambuilding activity that is going to include a golf lesson - 1 hr golf swing and 1 hr putting clinic. I organized the event and thought this would be fun. Then to the clubhouse for some drinks and food. Then I have to met Sabrina and Roberta at my house for 5:30 to head out to the Bloomin' Inn for our retreat weekend. I've scheduled a couple of posts to blogger for the weekend so there will be things to look at - also I am nearing 25K hits so I will have blog candy next week in conjunction with the Hanna Stamps release on June 6th.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

Supplies
Stamps: Spiral Bouquet - Paper Trey
Paper: pumpkin pie, certainly celery, basic black, whisper white, SEI Black Orchid
Ink: pumpkin pie, Momento black tuxedo
Accessories: Bazzill flowers, Amanada Blue polkadot brads, black SU ribbon

Spiral Flowers

It's a gorgeous Thursday here today ..... too bad I have to work in an office on the 38th floor in downtown Calgary all day. I can see the bow river from my office and it look so inviting.

Just one more sleep and 2 girlfriends and I are off to the Bloomin' Inn for a scrapping weekend. I hope to get the rest of my wedding album done this weekend.

This card is another of the 4 that I made at Calgals last meet up at Nancy's. It also used the SEI Black Orchid paper that I got from Mike's plus PTI stamps.

Stamps: Spiral Bouquet - Paper Trey
Paper: pumpkin pie, certainly celery, whisper white, basic black, SEI Black Orchid 8x8 pad

Live your Butterfly Bliss

The Calgals (see sidebar) got together on Friday - plus my Mom who was in town for the weekend. I made 4 cards there that night. This is one of the them. I picked up an 8x8 paper pad from Mike's that I used. The paper pad is from SEI and is called Black Orchid - the epoxy sticker is also from the line. Mike's has started to carry a few more designer lines.

My weekend with my Mom was great. We stamp/scrap shopped on Friday, went to Nancy's on Friday for the Calgals meeting. Saturday was filled with clothes shopping and the then dinner at the Redwater with friends and off to the Broadway show 'Rent'. I'd never seen Rent didn't even really know what it was about - I do have mixed feeling about it. It is always great to see a live musical, however this one was a bit strange...... it doesn't live up to shows such as Phantom of the Opera, Cats or Mama Mia.

Mom left on Sunday at noon, after I took her to the airport I put my PJs back on, found Grey's Antamony finale on the CTV website as I missed it (ABC doesn't allow Canadians to see the full episodes) - sat in front of my computer and watched it. It was so so so GOOD. I can't wait for next season. In my searching, I found a website that has a ton of tv on it Surf the Channel - so I went on to watch about 5-6 episodes of Season 4 of One Tree Hill. I missed that season however, I've seen the current one when they went ahead 4 years right through college/university. I thought that was a good move as so many series fail when the cast goes to college. - the whole point of this story is to tell you that I made an additional 8 cards for a total of 12 this weekend. I will have lots to show you soon. I also have all those double page layouts (5) to photograph.... hopefully I will figure out a good setup for that soon. So, LLL&S should be a pretty active blog .... about time I know! - plus next week is a sneak peak week for Hanna Stamps..... where did May go?

Supplies
Stamps: Butterfly Kisses, Mixed Messages - PaperTrey
Ink: Tempting Turquoise, Taken with Teal, Memento Black Tuxedo
Paper: basic black, tempting turquoise, SEI Black Orchid
Accessories: Imaginasce bazzill collection flower, SEI Black Orchid epoxy sticker on flower and faux brads, tempting turquoise ribbon

Embrace Life

This is the card that we sent off to Ian's Mom for Mother's Day. I waited and waited for my husband to do something as I figured she needed more than a phone call. He didn't so I made this card, got him to sign it and put it in Tuesday's mail so it will be late but the thought by me is there.

Our going away party for our friend's on Saturday was great. We got home at 3:30 am - I'm not used to late nights like that anymore. I finished my 5th scrapbooking design class last night. I am really enjoying scrapping now. I never thought I would say that. I am even going on a scrapbook weekend at the end of May with my girlfriend, Sabrina. I hope to do up the rest of my wedding album and get a start on our vacation album and Xmas album.

I had some supplies left over from the Ginger Blossoms project from April's stamp club on my desk so I used the remaining papers on this layout plus I had the flowers watercolored from that night when I showed the girls how to use an aquabrush. (The ginger blossoms project will be posted shortly as I have photographed it now)

Supplies
Stamps: Embrace Life
Paper: river rock, ruby red, groovy guava, whisper white
Patterned paper: ginger blossoms

A Special Goodbye!

I am going to try blogging a bit more often as I got a bit of razzing from the Cal-gals yesterday. If you don't know who the Cal-gals are Nancy, Allison and Tracy's blogs are all linked on my right side bar now so you can easily see what their are up too.

This is my first scrapbooked page that I have ever posted on my blog. It is not from the design class that I have been taking lately from Christy Riopel but rather a page I put together last night for a scrapbook for friends of ours that are moving to Australia. One of our mutual friends took it upon herself to get pictures from all their friends and put together a Goodbye Scrapbook for them. I, of course, choose to do my own page.

My intention of the page was to relay the message on how special our wedding day was and how great it was to have good friends like Mike and Annette their to share our day. (If you click on the picture it will enlarge it so you can see my journalling message!)

I am really going to have to work on photographing 12x12 pages - it's really tough. I did this one as a bird's eye view. If you do photograph your scrap pages, please leave me comments/tips on how you do it!

Supplies
Paper: Bazzill Crimson and Raven, Basic Grey Scarlett Letter
Accessories: Bazzill black paper flowers, Imaginasce Bazzill Collection Kisses fabric button brads, American Crafts Thickers vinyl letter stickers font: poolside

Hey Sunshine

Hanna's got on a little SPF (mini set SPF 50 to be released at midnight tonight) and is catching some rays. Did you notice my new paper? It is the new coredinations paper. I've sanded it and you can see the core color in real life but not so much on this card. I'm going to have colors that have more distinctive core colors. I've got 2 packs of the 8 1/2 x 11 in the Roy Gib V and Mod colors. Really nice paper to work with it has some slight texture and the wait is a little bit thicker than bazzill.

Prism Challenge

This is my Prism color challenge card for this week's release as described in yesterday's post. I used Prism papers which I have to say are gorgeous and a stampers dream just like the ads in the magazines say. I will be sending this card of to Jamie at Prism as a thank you for sending me and the rest of the Hanna Stamps Design Team samples of all the Prism papers.

I used Crab Apple Pink, Rose Dark and Vibrant Teal. The stamps set is one of the 4 new sets to be released on Friday. This set is called 'Garden Hanna' - I love her crocs! I hope this will be me this summer however in the Alberta heat it will be shorts and a tank top. The butterfly is a big large for this card but I really wanted to use my new Cuttlebug die/folders - This used the new butterflies, first you cut out the image with the die cut and then use a folder to emboss. There are 4 folders for this die cut. I got them from Sheila at Scrappin' Great Deals.

As always, there are some great cards to be found by the Hanna Stamps Design Team at SCS - Keyword: hsdt - View the gallery here.

Kitty in the Flowers

The challenge I hosted last night at the Hanna Stamps April Release Party was a color challengs and the card from yesterday was my creation for the challenge. The color challenge was to use plum (perfect plum and/or pale plum), always artichoke and basic grey. This color combo came when I was making this card. Tracy guessed that knowing me it had to do with Primas well I guess she could have been right as both cards have Primas on them but mind you all my cards have Primas or Bazzill flowers on them!

To see the details of the challenge look >> HERE <<

The challenge is open until 6 pm EST on Sunday, April, 6th. Your card needs to be uploaded into the SCS gallery using the keyword: HSCAPR2. If you click on that link, it will take you to see all the beautiful cards that have been made.

The two new sets by Hanna Stamps are up on the website: Tool Time and Passport Hanna.

Also, I don't think I mentioned that we have 2 new designers on the team Amanda Sewell and Niki Estes joined us on the last release in March. Click on their names to see their blogs. April's guest designer is Amber Porter. Make sure to check out thier great stuff - plus the Designe Team has about 679 Hanna Stamps cards in the HSDT gallery at SCS now (it grows by the minute!).

Today's card, was a colored image that was on my desk that I colored when I first got my copic markers and was just experimenting coloring various images. The colored images that made the cut are on my desk and slowly I am piecing them into cards.

I am off to stamp with the Calgals tonight (which if you read my blog you know that is Tracy, Nancy and Allison) - I reminded Allison earlier this week so she wouldn't miss the meeting at Nancy's batcave! I hope to make some new stuff as I have nothing left to show on my blog.

Supplies
Stamps: Cat - Creative Images, Mini Messages - PaperTrey
Ink: brilliance graphite black, copic markers, perfect plum
Paper: perfect plum, pale plum, always artichoke, basic grey, Staples 110# white, whisper white
