I was tagged by Nancy on Sunday. This tag is a bit different I am to list 7 things about myself and then tag 7 other people to do the same.
1. I'm an engineer and I'm marrying an engineer! How absolutely boring of us! Most people that know I stamp find it hard to believe I'm an engineer.
2. My future husband was born in 1980 - seems like a baby. At least I was born in 1976. Ian is also a leap year baby so he is officially 6 3/4 he will have his 7th birthday on Feb 29, 2008.
3. I've had the same cat since July 1993. Missie is now almost 14 years old and the most precious thing.
4. I leave to Vegas in 20 hours! I can hardly wait.
5. I'm currently not working - call it between jobs - but I'm loving it.
6. Other than Ian, my Mom is truely my best friend.
7. I'm walking in the Weekend to End Breast Cancer for the first time in July. My Mom is also doing it with me here in Calgary. I've raised $3,680 towards my walk!

Another Wedding Invite.....
However, this one is for a wedding invite swap that I am in on the Canadian yahoo group for SU! demos. They have to be postal by today so I thought I would show them.
Color scheme is similiar to my own wedding invites but I had to use all SU! supplies. This card is 6x6 in size and used the rock and roll techinque on the Roses in Winter set with So Saffron and Bravo Burgandy.
Supplies: (all supplies Stampin' Up!)
Stamps: Roses in Winter, Wonderful Words
Cardstock: Bravo Burgandy, So Saffron, Always Artichoke, Very Vanilla
Ink: Bravo Burgandy, So Saffron, Always Artichoke
Accessories: So Saffron brads, Ivory organdy ribbon
Technique: rock and roll

Wedding Invite Weekend!
I am getting married on September 29, 2007. My fiance, Ian (thats us on the side bar) proposed to me in Puerto Vallarta on my 30th birthday in November. As a stamper, I knew I would make my wedding invites and everything related to the wedding that I could. I am having a blast doing it!
Ian is off playing hockey in Edmonton at a company hockey tournament. I decide that this would be wedding invite weekend. (though I am taking a break to go to Scrapbookers Paradise members appreciation night tonight at 7pm)
There are the invites that I have been playing with over the last couple months. My color is Claret, SU! doesn't have a color that matches that red as it is more of a garnet color. Bravo Burgandy is too brown, Real Red is too cherry red so I decided that Cranberry Crisp was the closet and I really do love this color. I've added in So Saffron as an accent color. I've learned one thing - to design by envelope size as I'm not making a 100 envelopes as well! Our wedding theme is red roses and we are going for a very simple elegant look. I did CASE the roses with the cranberry and saffron from Emily at Stamping Stuff. She does amazing things with the Roses in Winter stamp set! She had used this color combo in a colour challenge at Splitcoaststampers which she titled Saffron Roses. It was CC104!
This pocket card is about 4 1/2 x 6 1/4 in size. I really like the pocket but Ian wasn't that crazy about it. I knew that it would be a bit time consuming to do 100 of theses as the layers are 1/16" layers and I would want to use my Perfect Layers tool to get them just right. Plus waste paper is an issue as it is such an irregular size and Cranberry Crisp only comes in 8 1/2 x 11.
I returned to a standard A2 card size. I used the Floral stamp on the background and the ticket corner punch on the stamped image. I liked the look and ease of this card but thought I should try my cuttlebug on the background.
Remember when the southwest corner punch was all the rage! Well it definitely doesn't go with the Divine Swirls Cuttlebug background. I wanted to try this corner so that I could see how it looked and I could pick what I like from the three A2 cards. I do like the bug embossed background so I thought I'd try the script background to tie into the word stamp.
This is it! Once I put the script background together with this stamped image. I knew this was the look I was after for my invites. I decided as much as I like the corner ticket punch from above with the brads I preferred the clean lines look with the standard brads in the corner.
Supplies:
Stamps: Roses in Winter set by Stampin' Up, Red Rose by Penny Black
Cardstock: All by Stampin' Up, Cranberry Crisp, So Saffron, Naturals Ivory
Ink: All by Stampin' Up, Cranberry Crisp, So Saffron, Mellow Moss
Accessories: silver brads, Stampin' Up Ivory Organdy ribbon

Go Flames Go!
These are a few pictures from the Flames game (Game 3, Round 1) in Calgary on Tuesday night against the Red Wings. I won the opportunity to buy tickets in the SportChek zone in the Flames lottery. I usually really hate being up in Level 3 but for a playoff game I can make an exception. I have been spoiled with working in the oil and gas industry in Calgary as an engineer, I tend to get free tickets from my vendors which are always in Level 1 so I've come to expect it. Of course, Ian came
with me - and if it weren't for him we would have no pictures as I hate lugging the camera around.
Before the game, at the official 'Tailgate Party in front of the Saddledome'.
The Pre-Game show before the National Athems.
The 'C' of Red in the Saddledome. Dress code for a Flames game is RED - preferable a hockey jersey.
A picture of Ian in his helmet from the HeraldHockeyHeads, he insisted of having a twizler in his mouth for the picture.
Right now, the Flames are down 4-0 in Game 5 in Detroit. Series is tied 2-2 - not looking like a win today, the Flames really do need to win a game on the road which is a weakness of theirs. They had the worst road record in the NHL this year.
I do love hockey and would hate to see it all over in Round 1!
ETA: The final score is 5-1 for Red Wings. Back to Calgary tomorrow night for Game 6! The must win on the road for Game 7 to keep this going.

Tagged ...... My turn!
I was blogger tagged by Tracy .
So now I have the hard job of coming up with 5 of my favorite sites. It is near impossible to list any sites that haven't been already tagged. So, I am just going to list 5 sites that are must stops for me daily. (in no particular order)
Emily at Stamping Stuff
Amy at Prairie Paper and Ink
Christie at Little Pink Flowers and Paper Pretties
Emily at StampingBella
Nancy at Nancy's Creative Mess
I could easily list another 10 that I stop by on a daily basis.

This first card was the card class example that came in the box that was designed by Christie at Paper Pretties, her own blog is Little Pink Flowers.
All paper and stamp supplies from April Paper Pretties box.
Patterned Paper: Paper Salon
Paper: Brown Bazzill
Stamp: Jammiebella by Stamping Bella
Ink: black stazon, watercolored with reinkers - SU! Close to Cocoa, Cool Caribbean

This second card is a slight variation of Christie's design however I used the white grosgrain in the box and my giga scalloped square punch.
Supplies as above with the addition of white grosgrain from the Paper Pretties box.
This third card changed with the addition of Stampin' Up brown grosgrain ribbon and the addition of a brown prima that was included in the box.
And last but not least for today -
This fourth card is my favorite design today. I used the Cool Caribbean long notes from the Spring Mini. I have added the 'Life is a Pajama Party' stamp from Hampton Art Stamps. Paper Pretties is in the house!
My April box arrived. I am so excited to get started. I'd take a picture of the contents plus my add-ons but the camera is in the bedroom and Ian is sleeping.
Tomorrow night I break in to the box to play with jammiebella. I also got some paper packs from Crate Papers that are gorgeous and dying to be used.
Stay tuned for more bellas.

Calgary Blog Candy winner
I had '3' comments from Calgarians. I had hoped for more responses here and on CST so although I have all positive responses - I am a little leary of planning this event and not having the attendance. I'll have to think on this a bit more!
Anyhow on to the blog candy winner, I used a random number picker on the internet that I googled. It picked #3 which means the winner is Nancy!
Nancy - I'll bring your blog candy by when I stop for my coaster order.
Thanks everyone for the responses.
Off to do some errands today. Sure wish it wasn't snowing.

Stamp and Scrap Night in Calgary? with Blog Candy
HELP FROM CALGARIANS IS NEEDED - ANSWER MY POLL WHICH GETS YOU IN FOR A CALGARY ONLY BLOG CANDY!
ETA: Post is set for April 10 to keep it at the top of my new blog. For new posts, please scroll down. Blog Candy picture added!
I am walking in the Weekend to End Breast Cancer at the end of July and my team and I have come up with a fundraiser in which the proceeds from the event would go to our team for the Walk - "Getting Juggie with it". (Please visit my participation page to learn more about the event)
We would like to host a Stamp and Scrap Event on a Saturday night in June from 4pm-midnight. Dinner would be included in the cost. We are looking a local community centre in Calgary to rent and would be approaching local vendors for donations so that we could do a raffle as well.
We are proposing that the event would cost $40 for the evening, includes 8 hours of stamp/scrap time, door prizes and dinner for the night. The raffle would be in addition fundraiser.
So, if you are from Calgary and area - please answer my poll by leaving me a comment.
o Sign me up, price is more than reasonable
o Sign me up, can we do this every month?
o I might be interested
o $40 is too rich for me
o I wouldn't be interested in such an event
I will draw from the comments left by all for a little blog candy thank you for your help. Blog candy will be drawn for on Tuesday, April 10 at 9 am MST.
Up for grabs is everything seen in the picture. My au chocolate thanks card. Bling flowers and bling circles, metal photo corners, green and purple fibres, and metal tags.

Embossing Resist with Paisleys
This card used embossing resist with the Polka Dots and Paisley set from Stampin' Up. I made this card for my first stamp club back in March.

Supplies (all Stampin' Up)
Stamp set: Taggers' Dozen, Polka Dots and Paisley
Ink: Regal Rose, versamark
Paper: Regal Rose, Real Red
Accessories: tag punch, small tag punch, red grosgrain ribbon

Happy Easter!
Ian and I are off to Saskatchewan to visit my family for the weekend at about 4 pm today. We will be back on Sunday afternoon.
I made this Happy Easter card from a TAC set (The Angel Company is not available in Canada but I bought through a US source) The design in from the scraps I had from my Paper Pretties march box.
Supplies:
Stamp set: TAC
Ink: versafine, colored with prismacolors and OMS
Paper: yellow bazzill, parakeet bazzill, crate designer paper, pretty in pink, whisper white
Accessories: bazzill brads, coral ribbon
I made these pails for my nephews in Saskatchewan for Easter. Denton is 3 1/2 years old and very big into spiderman, his brother, Hunter is 9 months old so his isn't as exciting as all the spiderman grub.

Paisley Flower
This is my pink paisley pinwheel flower which was one of the cards we made at March's stamp club. I used versmamark resist on the glossy panel and then sponged on the regal rose. Rose red paisleys were stamped on to regal rose cardstock and then cut out. Paisleys were paper pierced and fastened with a brad then I fanned out the paisleys to create the flower.
Supplies (all supplies are Stampin' Up)
Stamp set: Polka Dots and Paisley
Ink: red rose, regal rose, versamark
Paper: regal rose, pretty in pink
Accessories: white grosgrain, hand punch, silver brad
