Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween! I hope the weather holds out in Calgary so all you Mothers aren't freezing to death when you are out with your trick or treaters. I am leaving Ian in charge of the candy as I have tickets to Theatre Calgary.

We made these 4 - 3x3 cards in Stamp Club last week. They used the creepy crawly designer paper from Stampin' Up.

Supplies - all Stampin Up'
Stamps: Batty for You
Paper: really rust, basic black, whisper white
Patterned paper: Creepy Crawly
Ink: basic black, pumpkin pie
Accessories: 1 3/8" round punch, 1 1/4" round punch, scalloped punch

My Father-in-laws Mini

This is the card we gave to Ian's Dad a few days before our wedding along with a pair of silver mini cufflinks as a parent thank-you. The cufflinks were a big hit, I also gave Ian a pair on our wedding day that were Black Mini's. This picture is my FIL's 1979 Austin Mini.(? might be off on the year) The apple doesn't far from the tree as Ian has a 2005 Mini Cooper S. Which reminds me that I scrapbooked Ian's mini for him as a wedding present. I have to photograph the 6x6 album pages to post here.

Supplies
Stamps: unknown
Paper: real red, basic black
Patterned Paper: Basic Grey - Scarlett Letter
Ink: real read
Accessories: 1 3/8" and 1 1/4" circle punches

Dancing Butterflies

I made this card as a Thank-you for Ian's sister, Erin for helping with the ushers and programs at our wedding. The card base was 5.5 x 11, scored at 4 1/4 and 8 1/2 the last 1 1/2 was scored up and became a pocket for a gift card. I've always loved this stamp by Paper Inspirations and hadn't used it in awhile, it pairs nicely with the Basic Grey paper from the Scarlett Letter line.

Supplies
Stamps: Dance of the Butterflies - Paper Inspirations
Paper: real red, basic black, whisper white,
Patterned Paper: Basic Grey - Scarlet Letter (cut from 12x12)
Ink: palette noir black
Accessories: black gingham ribbon, chalks for coloring

But I Need it

My first official 'Hanna' card as part of the Hanna Stamps Design Team. I am so glad that I got this set last weekend after the difficult time we had with the delivery of the first package. If the first set ever does show up one of my blog readers will be very lucky. Stay tuned to my blog as another Hanna card will follow tomorrow night from the new set that will release on Friday.

I did use my SU markers to color directly on the paper, shading from lightest to darkest as I went. I find coloring directly on to the paper like you would with copics works well if you use one of the natural papers from SU such as natural white.

Supplies
Stamps: Hanna Stamps - But I Need it...
Paper: SU regal rose, certainly celery, pretty in pink, natural white
Patterned Paper: K&Company - paper has glitter on the paisleys
Ink: SU markers for coloring, Versafine black onyx
Accessories: certainly celery grosgrain ribbon, primas, flower bling from dollar store

You were a beautiful bride! Congrats to both of you:) I was married 3/26/76 and the colors were pink & white. YUK - I'm sure the ushers HATED wearing those pink accessories. Not my taste anymore, but I thought it was absolutely fabulous at the time. I changed my name because his is only 4 letters and quick to write checks:)

Blog Candy

Well my wedding has come and gone and we finally have our house organized and back looking like the home we lived in before the wedding took control of our lives. I'm not sure how many realize that I started a new job on the 4th of September and then the wedding was the 29th of September so its been a busy 6 weeks for me.

I hope to download the camera tonight and get new things up for my one or two followers. I have a 6 am flight tomorrow to Edmonton then we are driving 5 hours to the Cold Lake Air Weapons Range as that is the area I am now a production engineer for EnCana. I will be staying in the operator camp on the base for the rest of the week as we do some gas well reviews with the operations team. So, there will be no stamping time. I was hoping to get some images stamped and perhaps take along my markers and try to get a little something going - if not then I will be reading in our downtime.

Canada Post has officially lost my Hanna Stamps. Kristi mailed me a new set last week so hopefully they will arrive this week and I can fulfill my design team duty and create a few things with Hanna.

Because I'm going to be away and I haven't had any blog candy in awhile nor have I been a very good craft blogger. I am going to offer up a treat (aka bribe) to get my readers back with me. I have one last 'Delight in Life' set from Sell-a-bration left new and unmounted!

To enter my blog candy - leave me a comment here telling me when you were married, what were your wedding colors and whether or not you changed your name. (I did and I think I'm done the process now - just my passport and mortgage left) If you aren't married tell me what you visualize your wedding colors to be. Blog candy will be open until Sunday, October 21 at 12 noon MST.

Post will remain on top until blog candy is over.

I'm going Pink for October

If you want to get your own banner or badge to 'Go Pink for October' check out: Pink for October .

I have fortunately not been touched by breast cancer among my family or friends. I want to keep it that way so I am a huge supporter of the Weekend to End Breast Cancer and all things pink! I did the 60 km walk in July 2007 raising almost $4,100 for the cause. I have registered for the 2008 walk currently as part of the crew and am not sure if I will transfer to walk or not but I will be there as a volunteer hopefully if I volunteer I won't get blisters!

A few candids

My dad emailed me a few wedding pictures that were taken while our photographer was at work with us. However, they aren't the best - I never seem to be looking at the camera that is being done as I am looking at the photographer and pausing to look around at my family - but here are a few to keep my readers going until we get our real pictures from our photographer. It was nice to see these as I finally saw what I looked like - I looked in the mirror when I first was ready and then was on the run for the rest of the day so it is nice to see that I did hold together nicely. (The pictures get bigger if you click on them!)

I'm on a Design Team

Well from the comments that I have read on my last post - you all know that I am on the Design Team for Hanna Stamps. When Kristi Ferro asked me to be on the team in August and showed me the set I was so excited first, to be asked and second, I got asked! Then I saw the rest of the ladies on the design team and I was in awe to be in the company of such greatness. I will be adding the blogs of the others on the Design Team over the next few days on my sidebar. But until then visit the Design Team Announcement to see the others in my company!

I don't have my stamps although everyone else on the DT and in Canada has theirs. I think Canada Post hates me this week. I am hoping that they find their way to me on Tuesday if not, Kristi will be sending me another set so I can get creating. I have a few ideas floating in my head for Ms Hanna.

If you haven't seen the set it is below. You really need to go buy this set as for the month of October there is free shipping and that is to Canada too.

The website is: Hanna Stamps - this first set called 'But I need it' retails for $15.50 and is high quality clear polymer and is 4"x6" with Hanna being 3.5"x4". With the Canadian dollar at par and free shipping that means the set is really $15.50! I love being Canadian right now - anyone up for a shopping splurge south of the border with me - oh wait - I better pay off my wedding first.

Also be sure to read about the incentive that Kristi has added if you are to get published with Hanna Stamps! This gal means business! A $100 cold hard cash for EACH item you get published and that is for everyone not just for the design team.

I have seen a hint of another set to come from Hanna Stamps - your going to love this one as well!
